Bring your Poetry, Music, Song, Dance, or Random Talent and let your light shine!
Poets, Musicians, Actors, Artists, Comedians, Magicians... All talents are welcome! Come share your talents or just practice that new jam that you've been working on. Speak your word, sing that song, or just let that poem flow in an intelligent, intimate, inspiring and interactive venue.
Doors open at 7:00pm. Sign-ups are until 8:00pm, and the show usually runs from 8 - 10pm.
General Info:
We are trying to represent the light so we do ask that all performances include no profanity or lewd material. On the flip side, we also ask that if you intend to sing a worship song, to please refrain from telling the audience to sing along, stand, or lift up their hands as it creates an uncomfortable awkwardness in this particular setting.
Our main goal is to share artistic expressions of faith in God through Jesus Christ with those who may not know what it means to have a relationship with Him, but if you think that funny song or old poem you wrote in 3rd grade will minister to someone, bring that too! And invite a friend.
We typically get a wide variety of talents that entertain, inspire, and illuminate, often including a featured act toward the end of the show. We have a very casual and intimate setting where anyone can feel at ease trying out a new piece. Artists are also welcome to bring, display, and sell artwork, CDs, and other crafts.
We usually allow about 5-10 minutes per performer, but we can be flexible. If we have time, we often invite all to join in an open jam at the end. We do try to wrap it all up by 10pm.
Featured acts usually do a set ranging from 20 to 45 minutes. If you are interested in featuring, please contact us here.

MONTHLY FREE POTLUCK AND MOVIE NITE
The OB1 Fellowship Hall has a screen projector and the 3rd Monday of each month is now POTLUCK AND MOVIE NITE. We might show something with obvious biblical relevance like The Passion Of The Christ or we might show a classic favorite like Finding Nemo or The X-Men and then discuss any biblically relevant issues or themes we happen to find there. We're a bunch of movie buffs. Feel free to join us, bring snacks, and invite your friends.

AN EVENING OF ILLUSION FEATURING JOE MYSTIC
This is an evangelistic outreach event. Our goal is to perform the show on a regular basis at various churches and other venues as a way to both entertain and share the Gospel. Ask your congregation if they have any unsaved friends that they would like to see come to church, but can't quite seem to get them to. Ask everyone to invite a few of these friends to an evening of entertainment and illusion. Combining music and comedy with dazzling illusions, Joe Mystic provides a show suitable for all ages.
We take the opportunity to teach people that modern day examples of the dark arts that God wants us to stay away from include consulting psychic mediums, tarot cards, Ouija boards, and even reading horoscopes. Joe then performs many of the classic acts including Linking Rings, Girl in a Box, Fire Eating, and of course, producing a rabbit!
The last quarter of this 1 hour show is gospel oriented. Using illusion to capture the audience's attention, Joe illustrates that sin causes separation between man and God, and how a relationship with God through Jesus Christ makes closing the gap between man and God possible, restoring our lives.
Joe shares his testimony and the gospel and then offers a prayer and an altar call. At our first performance, about one hundred people attended and 5 people got saved! We are still accepting auditions for a Female Magician's Assistant, as well as a Stage Hand, Light Operator, and Sound Tech. We'd also like a few people trained in Alter Call and some to help with advertising and promotion.
